Meet Dr. Jay Marlin
Dr. Jay Marlin graduated Tufts School of Dental Medicine and received his endodontic specialty training at Boston University’s Goldman School of Dentistry. He taught at the endodontic specialty program at Harvard School of Dental Medicine for 17 years and was actively involved in research resulting in many published articles, lectures, patents, and techniques that are used worldwide. For the past 15 years he has been an Associate Clinical Professor of Endodontics at Tufts School of Dental Medicine in the post-graduate endodontic department where he is a frequent lecturer. Dr. Marlin is currently Head of Endodontics at the University of Massachusetts Medical School General Practice Residency Program.
Dr. Marlin is also the inventor and original patent holder of the “Obtura”, an advanced device widely used for filling root canals. His technique is taught in dental schools throughout the world and is widely accepted as the method of choice.
His professional career is distinguished by a dedication to excellence. Dr. Marlin has received numerous awards. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, American Board of Endodontics, and a fellow of the American College of Dentists. He has served as chairman of the Wachusett District Dental Society, and chaired the Speakers’ Bureau of the Worcester District Dental Society.
Dr. Marlin enjoys spending time with his wife Carol, sons David and Adam , and grandchildren. Some of his favorite activities are skiing, painting, sailing , and biking.
